Candice and Cleve decided to come all the way from Richmond, VA, in order to have their wedding at SF City Hall. Even though the skies stayed mostly grey, the day was quite warm, and their bold sense of style spiced things up. After taking some spontaneous portraits in and around City Hall, we ventured out towards Crissy Field and Golden Gate Bridge for some very ‘San Francisco’ shots. Congratulations, guys! Hope you had a great time in SF.
I spent a beautiful afternoon at San Francisco City Hall with Kristen, Derk and their families. Inside, we explored light, texture, and all of the different tableaus that City Hall offers up on a busy weekday. When we stepped outside to play in front of the building, it was obvious that autumn was upon us. The leaves on the sycamore trees in the plaza were starting to turn yellow, and some had already fallen. It was quite a romantic setting! Congratulations, Kristen and Derk!
Even though it’s stunning inside, it’s quite fun to play in the environment outside City Hall – just like we did with Emily and Jeff on this mostly cloudy SF day. They were a glowing couple and it was quite clear that they were madly in love. Quite appropriately, we emerged from City Hall to discover the Liba falafel truck. “Liba” is a variation of the Yiddish “Luba”, which means “Love”. Congrats, Emily & Jeff!
It happened again: Another handsome couple traveled to San Francisco to get married at City Hall like Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, and discovered that San Francisco in July can be very foggy, and very, very cold. At Sasha Photography, we believe that summer is a state of mind. And so, after an intimate ceremony and a photographic tour around City Hall, we braved the freezing streets in search of light and color…and made some beautiful San Francisco memories together.
