Readers of this blog have probably noticed that red is a ubiquitous color in my style and work. Finally, I was fortunate enough to meet Dina, who has a bit of a fondness for red herself. Dina and Rauf were amazing. As the photo and video cameras rolled, they were totally down to play, dance, and endure the cold San Francisco evening. Hey – beauty demands sacrifice! The Legion of Honor is a popular wedding photo spot, but thanks to Dina’s red hot style, and the couple’s adventurous dispositions, we were able to create some singular memories. As we finished up our photography and wrapped up filming in the chilly weather, I’m sure Dina and Rauf were thinking about their coming ceremony, and the ample amounts of vodka, cognac, Russian delicacies and fiery dancing that awaited them at Fandorin Restaurant. They were not disappointed – and neither were we. My team and I were treated graciously and generously the entire evening. Thank you, Dina and Rauf, and congratulations!!! Video and photo highlights from the wedding below. This popular Russian song really captures the energy of the night!

Until almost the very last minute, bride, groom, guests and even the filmmaker trembled under the threat of rain. And then, suddenly, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and the day was perfect. With the sun fully shining down upon this beautiful wedding, Biz and Chris tied the knot at the spectacular deLorimier Winery. The only drawback…is that the name of the place is a bit hard to spell. Enjoy!

After there was Anna + Nathan, The Film, there was the trailer. This will be much more fun to watch if you’ve already seen the film! OK, fine, so I jumped on the bandwagon and re-cut my film as an Inception-style trailer. It was too much fun to resist. Nothing like a little dramatic music, fun editing and quotes taken completely out of context to lure us to the movie theater, huh?

Anna and Nathan were long-time New York City dwellers before they finally bumped into each other. Here’s the story of how it all went down. A huge thank you to A & N for dedicating 48 hours of their busy pre-wedding schedule to shoot the scenes for this film, and for providing candid interviews. A note: please watch the film all the way to the end. There’s a special musical performance by Nathan himself!

Andy and Jen were married in a beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony at the splendid Casa de Flores in Sebastopol. They were surrounded by family and close friends, and the wedding had an amazingly warm and welcoming vibe. Everything turned out beautifully – the weather, the light, the vows, the music, the food, the energy… Now, here is their wedding film. Thank you Andy and Jen for an unforgettable day!

I love being behind the camera because it allows me to tell stories. Usually I tell stories in pictures, but I’ve realized that nothing can quite tell a story like a film. So I made one. Thanks to Masha, Misha and a little help from my friends, this wedding film became a reality. We showed it at their wedding reception, and by all accounts it was a big success!

So, what is SashaKino? It’s a world full of creative possibilities beyond the still image.
